I needed something stable and dependable to replace my Netgear wireless router and the SMC definitely filled the bill, providing a sophisticated router that is super stable. It has been on the line for many weeks, working flawlessly, giving me very fast connectivity, and has never had to be rebooted the first time. Can’t say that would be the case with other equipment I’ve owned. Easy to set up and customize in your environment. Buy it. You won’t regret it!

After years of struggling with a D-Link router, I decided to try something different. Came over and scoured the ranks of the reviews for a router that was simple and effective. The SMC brand was unknown to me, but after reading the reviews, the compelling features of the SMCWGBR14-N were what I was looking for….easy to set up, easily secured, and reliable. I have experienced a hiccup or two since I installed it, but for the most part, this machine is aces! I paired it with the SMCWUSB-N2 wireless USB 2.0 Adapter, and it has been a perfect match….HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! The connection is fast and trouble free…..quite a contrast to my previous experience. My current operating system is Windows 7 Pro, and my connection is a DSL line… no problems!

This is a great product. Easy to install, WIN XP had no problems with it and it took less than 5 minutes to complete. The gigabit router feature greatly improved our small network performance and the wireless speed is also quite good. No issues with shipping and vendor supplied product on time and as expected.

I recently bought and installed this SMC router to replace by older SMC Router that had given up the ghost, after 4 years. The average lifetime of comparable home routers is about 2-3 years. Reliability,outstanding technical support, plus a USB Printer connection were the main reasons I bought this thing. I have tried Linksys and D Link routers and took them back. There are cheaper products out there but… you get what you pay for.
Installation went well. I had a few connection problems but the Technical Support Staff got me straightened out. The new installation wizard for the USB printer works just fine. The printer must first be connected directly to and installed on each individual computer that is going to be on your network, then connected to the router via the USB port. It’s a driver thing.
Some things to bear in mind. If your are networking a desktop and a laptop and expecting to get 300 Mbps you will need a Network Card or an Adaptor Card capable of 10/100/1000 Mbps in each computer. If you decide to go with a wired network and connect the laptop to the router, in addition to the desktop, insure you use at least a CAT 6 Network Cable, capable of supporting a 10/100/1000 Base T-network. If your network port leads to an internal 10/100 Mbps card or device, then that’s all you are going to get. Finally, insure to separate the location of the router away from your DSL Broadband Modem by at least a few feet. The SMC Router, with the WLAN Switch On will transmit a signal that will interfere with the modem and create problems with certain internet sites.

Barricade N ProMax Draft 11n is one of the best & most reliable routers a person shall buy! I have been having it for quite a while and the product is absolutely excellent. I have already sent recommendations to some of my friends to get themselves the exact type of router and I sincerely recommend it to anyone else who wish and desire to have a reliable and super fast internet connection to go ahead and make their time browsing & surfing the internet with such a powerful Barricade N ProMax Draft 11n!!!
