I bought this Belkin Mimo USB wireless network adapter for my PC, and it works great!
One of the reasons why I am very happy to own this Belkin USB 2.0 network adapter is, before I bought this Belkin wireless 2.0 USB network adapter, I had a bad experience with D-LINK wireless USB network adapter.
The D-LINK wireless adapter crashed my Windows XP every 5 to 10 minutes, and gave me a5agu.sys error message. So I basically threw the D-LINK USB network adapter into my office trash can since D-LINK tech support refused to help me out and to replace the broken network adapter.
I went to Target and bought this Belkin USB MIMO wireless adapter and I was so happy that I decided to pick this product. It is not cheap, but the price is right for its quality.
Unlike D-LINK USB network adapter, this Belkin USB MIMO network adapter worked out of the box flawlessly without crashing.
The installation process is extremely easy. When it says, plug-and-play, it really is plug-and-play. I had no problem installing it. Just make sure you follow the instructions, insert the CD containing the driver for the wireless adapter and then you plug the USB adapter into the USB port of your PC.
It’s been almost a year now that I own this Belkin USB network adapter and it is working 24/7, day and night and it still works great for our business.
I haven’t talked to Belkin tech support yet, because I had no need to talk to them since the network adapter works without any problems.
So if you want a reliable USB network adapter for your business or home use, I really recommend you to buy this Belkin USB wireless adapter. It is worth it! Amazing! Awesome!

I bought this to replace my 18-month-old Netgear WG111T adapter, which had been overheating lately. The Belkin appealed to me in part because of the cradle– better positioning for reception and was narrow enough not to block the adjacent USB port. When I got this running (5 minutes, like others say), I was shocked at how well it received signals from my Wifi router. In areas of my house where I had previously gotten an inconsistent 3 bars, I now had (the maximum of) 5. I moved further away from the router. In areas where the Netgear could not connect at all… I got 5 bars… with or without the cradle. Unbelievable.

I was reluctant to buy this product after i looked at the mixed review, but i bought it anyways since i had a good deal. This product worked like magic on my computer, installed the software (2 Next button), plugged the adapter in, thats it, gave me all the available networks, clicked on mine, entered the key, and working like a charm, no speed drop, no computer crash. nothing.. very satisfied

I’ve used this on all my Ubuntu Linux machines, and it just works “out of box”, of course, no installation as is typical with Linux machines, either it does or doesn’t.. And this one works beautifully.. Even with WPA..

Some reviewers complained of problems with the included software and said that they had connection problems, weak signals, etc. Despite this I decided to take a chance and order since I’ve been pleased with other Belkin products. I’ve got to admit that I began the installation with a lot of fear. If anyone would have a bad experience, it surely would be me. But now I have to say that I don’t understand the negative reviews. The installation went very smoothly. I thought about not using the software but did anyway. You can install it and then turn it off, but why? I tried turning it off to use the Windows network utility. That’s when the problems began. I quickly went back to Belkin’s software. It operates just as it should every single time. I turn on the computer, the information box opens, the machine is connected, and away we go. Not a single time has there been some connection issue. I haven’t bothered to run a speed test, but I’m not aware of any difference between that computer and my brand new Dell with the built in wireless connection. I don’t have a need for another one of these, but if I did, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another. 100% happy.

I’m writing this review because I felt I should write about this awesome product. After dealing with d-link/linksys wifi cards I completely gave up. These were horrible products and some of the reviews were somewhat off about those products. But I’m happy to say the Belkin USB Wireless Adapter gave me new found hope in wifi again. I would like to say that everything this product has to offer is true. After dealing with d-link and linksys with their so called 54mbps connections, the max speed I would get was 11mbps and still didn’t feel like it. The d-link had connection issues with slow speeds and linksys was just as bad if not worst and the included software for both adds nothing but garbage and in one case issues with my wireless zero config. Anyways, the Belking was so easy, and I was up and running in like 5 mins after an install and restart…BAM wifi ready. The included software is easy to understand and setup is a breeze. The only issue I encountered was that Belkin’s wifi utility placed itself on my START menu but I’m assuming this was normal since the other cards did the same. But my issue with it was that it would not automatically connect to my preferred network I guess because I had my router to hide my broadcast ID. I didn’t bother with my router because I would just have to press connect and it would connect. It really wasn’t a big deal for me but my dad would be using it and he is not so proficient with a computer. To solve this all I did was have windows zero config take over, which by the way is an option included in the belkin wireless utility, doesn’t get much easier than that. These honestly were minor, minor issues which were resolved easily. I would definitely recommend this product and would buy another for my computer. Oh, by the way the speed of this product is awesome constant 54mbps. I saw it go down to 38mbps once but it still didn’t slow me down and the range is awesome. My router is 40feet away from this computer and goes through like three thick walls (my room, a hallway and bathroom). If you’ve tried the rest try this one you wont regret it.

Just in case anyone is looking, this worked fine with Ubuntu. This adapter completely outshines the Rosewill one I had that shot craps. It is a bit big though. About two fingers width, so even on a desktop you might want to use the cradle/mount thing that it comes with. All in all, I would buy another one.
These are great for children desktops. If you don’t want them to have internet/network access, just remove the thing. Big points in my book.

I am running a “pre-N” network which simply means it’s faster than G speed and with greater range. I bought this adapter for my kids PC about 35 feet away and through an interior wall. The download speeds are nearly as fast as my wired connection – I’m amazed.
Although I’m an advanced user (20 years with a home PC – built a few over the years) getting this device up and running was simply plug and play. I was online in 5 minutes. The connection is rock solid – no drops or loss of speed after a few weeks use. BTW, I opted for USB so the unit can be used on a new PC down the road (since it won’t be obsolete for a long while given the speed).

The Belkin F5D9050 wireless G usb adapter is in some ways better than the the wireless adapter that came with my computer. It installed in minutes and without any problems on Microsofts Vista Os. It is very good at picking up weak signals and making the signal useable to me. And Belkin quality is as always in there. I have tried other brands of usb adapters and the F5D9050 is awsome.
