This product was reasonably easy to set up. I am very limited in my ability to work with computers and did not look forward to setting up the home network. I did try to follow the quick start guide that came with the router. The router has four ethernet plugins and allowed me to hook up a DirecTV satellite receiver and a Sony Blueray DVD player purchased just to use the internet connection capability. All I had to do was plug in the ethernet connection from the receiver and player to the MBR900. Connections were established automatically and I did not have to do anything except turn on the components. I used a UM175 USB modem with service from Verizon, plugged it in and it connected automatically. VZaccess was not used on the laptop once I plugged in the modem to the router.
I turned on my wireless card in my laptop and it connected fairly painlessly although I did have some confusion with someone else running a Netgear network somewhere in my neighbor hood and my laptop kept trying to connect to it. Once I got that figured out, the connection to the MBR900 has been faultless. Stays on 24/7 and my laptop connects everytime I turn it on and connect via Explorer. Other programs on my laptop, Quicken in particular, connects each time I open it up and connect.
The receiver and player internet connections are working as advertised. I can’t believe really how simple this had been and how well it works.

I purchased this router to eliminate the problem of sharing an ATT Aircard. So far, it has worked perfectly. The same old problems still exist with the aircard being so inconsistent receiving the 3G signal, but that’s not the router’s fault. I love the “always on” feature. That saves a lot of time in the connection process. Setup was fairly easy and only took a few minutes. The router was received on time and so far, no problems.

From the time I opened the box until I was up and running was 9 minutes. Very good instructions, easy to use. We are full time RV’ers and needed some way to increase our connectivity, so we included this router into our Wireless Booster System. Works like a charm!

this device just made my life so much easier. Now instead of one of us being on the internet at a time, all of us are. I just plugged my usb aircard into device, plugged it in to outlet, and tada! Highly recommend to all.

I purchased this router a month past. I had never set up a network, much less one using mobile broadband. I had to call Cradlepoint for help in setting the unit up. There was no wait time and my question was answered quickly. I have had no problems with the unit over the month I have had it. One drawback is that with Verizon service you have to go the their website to check usage as the router does not show accumulated use.
This router is 4G capable so I will not have to upgrade if Verizon ever offers 4G.

I had tried a number of different cellular modems claiming to work with my Verizon USB modem. This one finally worked. It has worked like a champ too. It came set with normal defaults so the average user could simply plug it in and go, but it also has a lot of great features (such as DYNDNS, port forwarding, etc.) that the advanced user can use to get even more out of this router. I like the 4 LAN ports also. I’ve owned this product for about a month now and think it is great. I would definitely recommend it to others.

I love this thing. It actually increased my signal strength. It could have a little more documentation but, all in all, it was easy to set up. It worked with little input from me. I had a minor problem and that’s where a troubleshooting guide could have been helpful. Turns out, it was my equipment causing the problem.
The built-in menus are easy to follow and are complete. I really like the option of “On Demand” operation. I plug in my USB760 from Verizon and the 900 connects without any action on my part. I don’t have to invoke the Verizon Manager software on any of my PC’s to access the Internet. You’ll have to insert the Modem into a stand alone PC from time to time to view your usage data. That information is not available when the Modem is plugged into this Router.
After 5 minutes, an adjustment you set, the connection shuts down until a request is made to go on the net. The unit then reconnects and you are surfing again. I don’t have to worry about exceeding my current 5 GB data limit because I forgot to shut down the Modem.
I’m not using the WiFi but hardwire connections for my local network. When first turned on, all my PC’s were connected via the WiFi. This unit has a slide switch on the rear panel which enables or disables the WiFi option. Really easy to change. No need to log-on and do the changeover via menu selection.
I bought this unit for another reason and that was the response I received from Cradlepoint. I was very impressed with the time and effort involved in responding to my question. The answer was not a “Canned” response and addressed my concerns perfectly.
I haven’t used nor do I know what this unit is fully capable of doing but I’m very pleased with my purchase.
The only negative is my desk required a vertical rather than a horizontal orientation of the unit. Cradlepoint doesn’t provide means for vertical mounting. My old router was a D-Link and I used the mounting feet from that unit to hold the Cradlepoint unit vertical. This orientation allows for easy access of the USB port for the Modem and puts the Modem higher for better reception.
From my experience, I would recommend this unit. For a photo showing mounting technique, visit

I purchased this unit to replace my D-Link DIR-450. My 3G provider changed and my broadband card went from PCMCIA to USB. This unit works much better than my old one ever did and is cram packed with additional features. Security & routing setup is much simpler and just plain works. Support for models of USB modems is outstanding as well. I cant say enough good things about this unit!

Easy to set up and run, I was surfing in no time. The only problems I have had are infrequent losses of connection, due, I think to the AT&T modem, rather than the router. Powering off and back on resolves the connection problem. I’m very happy with this purchase. It makes life in the woods feel a little more connected.
